You might be surprised why this wild ape that only inhabits the vast jungles of Africa randomly appeared in your dream. Chimpanzees are rare symbolic images that show up for a specific reason during a particularity time in one’s life.
While monkeys are generally are seen as symbols of happiness, immaturity and bad behaviour; Chimpanzees however are often associated with communication, family and our primate instincts and behaviors.
Chimpanzee Dream Meaning
In fact humans are extremely close to the chimpanzee that we share close to 95 – 98 percent of our DNA with them. If you sit down and observe them you will notice that we both use tools to achieve our goals, laugh between each other and of course are very social.
We must approach the chimpanzee in our dreams as something that is similar to us but not as refined – the primate side, something that is not fully refined. The chimpanzee will displays itself in a manner that will determine if it comes as a guide or an unconscious problem.
Chimpanzee Symbolism:
- Divine connection,
- Language and communication,
- Intuition (grounded in the earth),
- Power and flexibility,
- Wisdom and intelligence,
- Aggressive and powerful;
- Societal complexity.
Chimpanzee Dreams: Chimp Off The Old Block
Since dreams like to use metaphors to relay messages we can investigate the chimps behaviors and see it if mirrors some of our unconscious instincts. If we are not consciously aware of these behaviors the chimp may become aggressive, where as being in compliance with it the chimp might be loyal or friendly to you.
The chimp can mirror our innate hard-wire behaviour that we often mask or rejected by our personality. The chimp might reflect our sexual urges, need to procreate, violent tendencies, greed, protect; to hunt, feed and provide.
Chimpanzee Attack Dreams
A chimpanzee attack in our dream represents your repressed instincts and behaviors as they are not recognized. They attack you only when you are unable to control these animalistic behaviours within.
Noticing a baby chimp in your dream represents development or an understanding to your primate or instinctual side. How did the baby react with you?
Fun Fact:
The oldest recorded chimpanzee was Little Mamma, a captive female who was between 76 to 82 years old when she died in 2017.
Chimpanzee Dreams: Communication & Behaviors
Could the chimpanzee reflect how you interact in small and social groups? Since they are known to spend most of their times in communities and family what does that mean to you? Could the chimp be your unrefined nature in social groups?
The loud call or screech brings your attention to communication, a possible inability to vent its inner primitive feelings, needs and possibly danger.
I had a dream that I was at an RV stop with my family. Some random guy (I don’t remember his appearance) kept saying things like “they’re coming” and “you better hurry up!” A large chimp somehow got inside and attacked my children. I was boxing it until I told my baby to get the knife. I managed to stun it enough to incapacitate it and stab it in the chest. It struggled and I stabbed it in the other side of the chest, then the heart (deliberately), and I sliced the inside of his left leg (deliberately also) to… Read more »
I don’t recall any details of my dream other than there were two chimpanzees and one of them bit me repeatedly. I’ve never dreamed of chimps before, thinking this is a noteworthy omen of some kind. Any insights you could offer? Thanks!
I saw a chimpanzee flying in my dream. It landed at the top of a tree and watched the sunset with it’s baby next to it. At first I thought it was a bat or vulture. I dream of many animals but never a flying chimp. It came out of nowhere at the end of the dream..
Hi, in my dream I was being chased my so many chimpanzees and one baby chimpanzee came to me and hold my hand and suddenly started tickling me…. And I woke up so please tell me the meaning of it!
I dreamt that I had a newborn baby and was walking around with it swaddled in a white blanket. When I looked down at it in my arms, it was actually a newborn chimpanzee; not human baby. What does this mean?
I had a dream about a female chimpanzee about as tall as me that stood upright and she was hugging me for a long while. I’m wondering if there was a meaning in this dream
Hi am pretty disturbed right now. I just had a nightmare. I was exploring a terrace of a house and then i saw two chimpanzees talking. I didn’t react and tried to calmly walk off but they followed me. At last when I hurriedly tried to close the grill door they tried to cut my fingers with a sissor. And I was crying for help
Fingers are known to point at others. Its possible two people with these primitive behaviors will affected you in some way. Alternatively, they could also be you or what your behaviors that are unconscious to you — scissors are there only to “remove” these aspects of you.
Hi, I had a dream about a talking baby chimpanzee who was left behind by their family. The baby chimp told me that they were scared and cold. I helped the chimp and carried it towards their family to reunite. The baby chimp and their family were all tired of migrating, both cold and fatigued. I helped them cook their food and tried to find water.
Seems to be either linking to your inner child or something underdeveloped within you (immaturity). If it is cold and scared you must find this part of you. See inner child in the search bar.
I had a dream that a talking chimpanzee tried to eat me and my mom.
Its wild behaviour might be related to you or someone else. Can you provide more information about the dream.
I had a dream that I was taki by care of a girl chimpanzee. What does that mean?
She might in fact be you or what is known as your primitive side.
Hi I saw the skull of a chimpanzee transform into a full chimp. It started with the left tooth of the skull without any form of flesh on it and it quickly transformed into a full beautiful chimp or monkey most likely the same thing. It was a daydream tho.
Interesting. What I find symbolic is the fact that it transformed from the left tooth. Now usually teeth in dreams are very complicated symbols but this part might be coming from your power, strength, protection, communication. Now if it original from the left and not the right it becomes a sign of something of fragility, weakness, lame. So this primitive side to you seems to be undergoing a rebirth (skill transforms) related to your instincts, behaviours and urges.
Hi I dreamt that I’m visiting to my relative place and there are lot of chimpanzees
some injured and they are attacking on us with weapons. My aunt save me from a chimpanzee. And somehow I succeeded to enter in their house, which is all messy. There I saw cowdung in every room. My cousin is cleaning the room. Aunt tells me that there is a cow in other room. I didn’t see the cow
If you look at these so called houses we enter it is like we go into a part of our minds, or that of the person you are picking up on. Houses in dreams often connect the person to the psyche/mind or inner architecture. Usually in these cases when houses are unkept it might show some sort of mental baggage, problems, issues related to the home. The cow dung (feminine in nature related to nourishing) and the ground or root chakra distortion – letting go, build up, waste, negative energy. It is a good symbol when one cleans up. I… Read more »
I had a dream where I was in a place full of caged chimpanzees. I felt I was going to be stuck and I wanted a way out but there was a little one which wasn’t paying attention. It wasn’t comfortable it was sweaty trying to cool it self what does that mean?
Most likely the chimpanzee belongs to something that is unknown to you. This is an area you feel stuck and trapped. If the chimp is caged it seems to refer to your unconscious instincts or repressed primitive behaviour/needs that needs to be examined.
I dreamed a baby Chimpanzee was sucking my left t**, and I refused by putting my right hand between his mouth and my breast.
Clue: Right and Left. You are refusing by putting your “right” hand between mouth (communication) breast (nourishment). Seems to me that there are unconscious elements taking place with instincts or motherhood (urges)..
I had a dream that I was looking through the window and I saw around 20 chimpanzees carrying baby chimpanzees … but one of them was carrying a small kitten and chimpanzee slowly put that kitten down… is there any meaning ?
I think the dream is meaningful. Windows are very symbolic as you are looking through/at/towards/openings/advancement that relates to your inner world (see window dreams). Chimps might relate to family or your primitive side – the kitten might show underdevelopment of the feminine part of you that will now grow as they left it behind. I think the dream is do to with development of your unconscious feminine attributes.
I had a dream that im living in a chimpanzee room with them for a day in a cage..what does it mean?
Feelings: fear,happy and alert
The cage is a symbol of confinement, perhaps relates to covid situation being stuck inside. The feelings might be reflected in your dream, as the chimp relates to your drives, behavior’s and instinct’s.
Thanks for ur time
I had a dream of seeing a chimp swinging on a swing above me. It was in a garden. Then I dreamt that a man about to take a long trip gave his caged chimp the keys to the it’s cage. He told that chimp to feed the other caged chimp. But the keys were slipped back into the man’s pocket and he realized only after stepping off the train at his destination. I woke before I could find out if went back.
I had a dream a monkey (a chimpanzee) came down out of a tree and handed me a fig. The feeling was kindness and genuine sharing of a favorite, even treasured, fruit.
Wonderful dream. Fig seeds signify universal understanding, unity, abundance and truth.
