Dreaming of Numbers

Numbers have been very symbolic and hold value, both numerical and spiritually. A Greek philosopher &  mathematician named Pythagoras 569 B.C, understood the relationship between a number and its mystical nature. Connecting to the individual and a worldly level, Pythagoras felt that the world is built by the power of numbers; usually in single digits.

Dreaming of numbers is often misunderstood as the language is unclear when presented to us.  One will have to decipher if the number is either meaningful, significant or spiritual in nature.

Dreaming Number One

Dreams: Number 1: Number one is often regarded as the start of new beginnings. Noticing a one in your dream can connect us to unity, self, ego, love and wholeness.  Starting at square one in your life, new direction new life is ready to unfold.  Dreams appear as metaphors depending the context of your dream and how you view the number 1 can alter the meaning.  If you are single for example you might be trying of the number 1 to signify your need to be in a pair with someone.  Another example would be you are the “lucky one” in a certain situation or event.

Biblical: Dreaming of the number One is connected metaphorically to the symbol of unity and oneness. It brings us closer to god or self, possibly being the chosen one. The bible holds the number 1 as symbolic as a unification that connects the God the Father and Jesus Christ, the trinity.  Religiously significant the number 1 could be related to the new testament Numbers 1 NIV .  In the Torah Aleph is an ox in Hebrew. It signifies strength or being first or “Number One.”

Numerology: The number one is considered to be attached with a natural born leader.  The person who has the capability to change and become a pioneer for a better world. This is an important number for success and determination to reach for the stars as they overcome many obstacles in their way.

Ancient Chinese: They consider it the simplest number, but culturally it is way more complex in Chinese culture. It has meaning of the beginning, the start, and the whole, which first suggested by Lao Zi . According to the Tao Te Ching, The Way formed to give life to one (unity); than gave birth to two (duality) and from that gave birth to the trinity.  Eventually just form the One gave birth to 10,000 things.

Tarot Cards: In Tarot the number one is associated with The Magician (I), also known as The Juggler, is the very first trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks.

Dreaming Number Two

Dream: Number 2: Dreaming of the number two connects us to harmony and balance in our life and others. This is a very positive dream symbol aligning us with the feminine, both power and strength.  However, deeding the context of how something of “two” appears can either connected or showing a separation. It could also donate a need for balance that might be lacking in your life.  Two opposing sides struggling against each other or working in harmony can alter the dream. Biblical: Number 2: When the number 2 appears in the bible it has dual meanings.  It can a representation of union between Christ and the church, as well as the union between man and woman.  In the bible Adam unfortunately sinned and carried death and destruction into the world.  Jesus, however, as the second (or last) Adam brings the hope of the resurrection and eternal life. During the end of times there will be two witnesses on the world scene to testify and uphold the truth against the Beast.   Two angels also sat where the body of Jesus had lain; “and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.” John 20:12.

Numerology:  The number two comes right after number 1, which is both original and self sufficient. Number 2, therefore, derives much of its symbolism in contrast to it.

Ancient Chinese:  Consider the opposite forces, Yin and Yang connecting the male and female energy sources.  According to the Daoist they are two forces that keep unity with the universe.  In Chinese culture the number two is a Yin number – it has no center.

Greek Mythology: Comparing the Greek god Zeus to the number 1, then his wife and sister Hera would represent the number 2. If this is the case than Hera, the number 2 is jealous and mean-spirited when other forces come to her companion.

Dreaming Number Three

Dream: Number 3:  Could this be a metaphor for “things coming in three’s or three’s a crowd”?  The letter three has both positive and negative meanings attached to it depending the context of your dream.  Like the triangle it connects the positive and negative to create a unity between the two. Possibly connected to family or relationship to bring forth something new.  When the letter three shows up in your dream it connects the past, present and future; birth, life and death; start, half way and ending. This is also is the number of the divine and magic.

Biblical: Number 3:  The number  three quite symbolic in the bible as it is used 467 times.  It represents wholeness, perfection and unity.  Remember there are three apostles of God: Peter, John, and James. They are the ones who followed Jesus Christ to the garden of Gethsemane. These apostles show us light, love, and life individually. Other trinities existing in the Bible are body, spirit and soul and the three parts of the consciousness and unconsciousness.

Numerology:  The number three in numerology is about the creative and self expression side. It is the social with strength in visual and auditory.

Astrology: Three is a Zodiacal symbol for Gemini. The creative and inventor, or the creator. It is a positive mutable sign.

Chinese:  According to the Chinese the number 3 is lucky because of  its similarity in sound to the word that means birth.

Dreaming Number Four

Dream: Four:  Dreaming of the number four is connecting us to the square and cube.  Metaphorically appearing to us to represent stability of geometric perfection. it is a symbol of stability and dependability, of geometric perfection.  Connecting us to the final stage of immobility and can be veered as the truth or supreme knowledge.  Think of earth, air, water and fire (grounding energies); mind body, intuition and spirit. (esp).  Could it suggests “for” something or “four” of a kind?

Biblical: The number 4 derives its meaning from creation. Referred to as the fourth day or ‘creation week’ God completed the material universe. In Genesis God brought into existence our sun, the moon, and all the stars. It also state there are four gospels which were Matthew, Luke, John and Mark.

Chinese:  Unfortunately the number four considered to be an unlucky number.  In the language the letter  死 (sǐ), which means “death”.  Thus, some buildings in East Asia remove the number 4 in rooms and floors, similar to the Western practice of some buildings not having a 13th.

Islam: In Islam there are four Archangels named: Jibraeel (Gabriel), Mikaeel (Michael), Izraeel (Azrael), and Israfil (Raphael)

Dreaming Number 5 Meaning

Dream: Five:  When we dream of seeing the number five it associates with our free spirit being.  Your energy is calling for a change as its craving adventure, change and resourcefulness.   The number connected to the characteristics of man with five fingers, five toes, five sense and five appendages.  Depending the context of your dream the number 5 can also imply to lacking focus and need grounding.  Hamza in the Middle East protects us against evil.

Dreaming Number 6 Meaning

Dreaming of the number SIX connects us to balance, love and relationships. Depending the context of your dream it could go either way. Dreaming Number Eight Meaning

Dream: Eight:  One of the most powerful dream numbers representing eternal cycle and the unity of all things, material and spiritual.  If you turn the number eight on its side you will get the Gnostic and alchemical symbol of the Ouroboros.  In ancient Greece and Egypt this emblematic serpent of the snake eating its tale translates to being reborn from itself.  The eternal cycle of destruction and rebirth.  Transformation as the Buddhists follow the eight fold path to enlightenment.

Dreaming Number Nine Meaning

Dream: Nine:  The esoteric meaning of the number nine is connected pertaining with the idea of ​​wholeness and perfection.
