Improve Sleep Using Feng Shui

I decided to write an article on Feng Shui after sleeping in a house for a week that was purposely arranged to generate positive chi. I would never have given a second thought about Feng Shui as I figured it was for new aged moms who needed an excuse to remodel their homes. Little did I know that this tradition dates back to 4000 BC in China and is taken very seriously.

Feng Shui is a Chinese art or practice considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of chi energy in your home. The practice of moving furniture, clearing objects and removing clutter creates a more harmonious environment. The word (chi) just means energy or prana, as the ancient Chinese used this life force for balancing  Yin and Yang; the positive and negative that flows though everything.

Over the years of writing down my dreams and experiences I noticed some houses I have slept in had both a negative and positive feel to it. I don’t think you necessarily need to be an empath or intuitive to pick up a vibe in a house, sometimes it just feels a bit off. Just imagine sleeping in a house where a person is an O.C.D  hoarder, depressed, or maybe someone who just recently had a divorce; you might have trouble adjusting.

Random places that I have stayed over the years with a negative or turbulent past I noticed an increase of nightmares, or even sleep paralysis during the night. Houses with a calm, clean or peaceful aura made my sleeps a whole lot better, waking up with a smile on my face. I recently stayed in a house that was purposely arranged to follow the laws of Feng Shui and it sparked my curiosity – my sleeps where the best I have ever had. A feng shui bedroom is a peaceful and balanced environment that promotes a healthy night sleep.

Feng Shui Bedroom Colors

The top colors in a “Feng Shui” home would be white to dark chocolate brown as it creates the best grounding energy. Skin color tones are considered the best for a bedroom, so you cannot as it promotes positive energy. Choosing these colors will promote personal wellness and positive Chi energy through out the house. The most popular Chi colors of 2020 are lavender and earth tones.

Feng Shui Bedroom

Inside my bedroom the first thing I noticed was the layout of the room. A major rule is is placing the bed diagonally from the bedroom door and has a solid wall behind it. You can access the bed from both sides and had a cozy feel to it and a comfy rug in the center. Everything was neatly organized complimented with a soothing color on the wall, the feeling of tranquility. A couple of days staying in the guest house I noticed that everything was in pairs though out the entire guest house.

The moment I came back to my house I started to examine my room hoping for a sleep similar I had in the guest house. I noticed clutter in my closets, a light that doesn’t work properly, and a dripping tap goes against the natural order of the universe. After fixing these minor issues I instantly felt better as I wanted to do more and more. According to Feng Shui experts practicing this techniques will promote an array of positive energy in your life, here are some benefits listed below.

  • Relationships
  • Success
  • Removing bad energy
  • Connect to your higher self
  • Overall well being

Since this sparked my interest I will give it a chance and I am hoping you will do the same. It doesn’t hurt to try and can only be beneficial to you and the others who come into your home.
