Definition: Spiritual – relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.

Deepak Chopra the new aged “spiritual guru” is living like a king with and estimated net worth of $80 million. The new aged author may have his back against the wall when approached about his wealth, as he stated in 2012 interview, “Spiritual people should not be ashamed of being wealthy”.  Similar to the liking’s of televangelist who prey off of the unfortunate weak minded people, in hopes to give them an deeper meaning to all life’s answers.

Deepak Chopra offers us a new look on spirituality almost like televangelist Joel Osteen, but with a twist. Deepak is intelligent enough to find the missing link, the grey area, between religion and science, and markets it to perfection. He topically takes what he wants from all the eastern religions and philosophers and turns it into magic with big words and jargon for the ones that listen.  The man who teaches you about the ego also charges anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000 per seminar.  His website heavily promotes his line of nutritional supplements, books, videos, and seminars (referred to “meditation experiences”).  We are not here to attack Deepak but to show what is behind the persona of the Indian guru like figure he portrays to the media. Why does he have to represent spirituality, the same reason why Joel Osteen is the angelic face behind Jesus. These greedy people open doors for atheist thinking minds, as they know something is not adding up .  Should we be upset with them or the gullible ones that follow them. They fall in place with the same people who might line up at Walmart on black Friday, or drink the spiked kool aid.  The fact that Donald Trump might be president of the United States can also back up how Deepak Chopra might have got to the status he is at today.  As Lao Tzu  says “He who knows does not speak. He who speaks does not know”.

This article is not to promote atheism thinking or bash religion and spirituality.  This article is to make you think for yourself, for you to have your  own perspective on spirituality and to be cognizant on what people say about it. Dont sit back and let people do the talking for you create it in your mind and then project it.

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
